Most cases of croup can be treated at home with simple supportive measures, such as rest, adequate hydration and medicine for fever control can help while symptoms pass.  Some people find that humified air or steam from bath or show can also help. In severe cases where children are struggling to breathe, feed or are becoming more unwell, you should the seek advice of medical professional at the earliest opportunity.

Some children requite medication to help with inflammation such as steroids and very occasionally may need to stay in hospital for treatment.
